My name is Emma Kate Johnson. My
brothers, sisters and I were abandoned by my first family when we were very
tiny and hungry. We were so young that our eyes were not even open! I don't
know what happened to my birth mom, but my friends at the Monroe Veterinary
Clinic were really worried about us and fed us with tiny droppers and
bottles. We were really lucky to be alive. All of the staff there loved us
and looked for good homes for us. My new Mom came to adopt me in November,
2006, when I was about 8 weeks old.
My new Mom loves me almost as much as I
love her! She says that I brighten up her day when I follow her around our
house. She thinks that I was made for her to love. I would have to agree!
Every day is a new adventure for me since
I am a very curious cat. I love to sit beside the sliding glass door where I
can watch chipmunks, birds and even humming birds. I like to talk on the
telephone to my mom's friend Kelly. I'm not sure if she can understand me,
but we try to communicate! I also like to sit in the bathroom in a hospital
pan so I can stay dry while my Mom takes a shower. When my Mom is cooking,
she puts a towel on the kitchen counter so I can watch what she is doing. I
get to play all around the house during the day, but I spend the night in my
pet carrier. I don't always want to get in the carrier, but since my Mom
holds me and pets me before bedtime, it is okay.
I love to explore our home. I check out the coffee pot every morning and
look for interesting things in the kitchen and behind the TV. My Mom was not
very happy when I unplugged the TV! I am willing to share the recliner with Mom, but
sometimes I need to be the only one sitting in the chair! I am very shy and
hide under the bed when company comes to visit, but when I board at the
clinic, I make a lot of friends there. My friend Tator is a lot of fun, even
though he is a golden retriever. I love to tease him and he doesn't mind.
Dr. Mitchell and my Mom take good
care of me. Mom takes me back to the Clinic to visit and get my shots. She
wants me to stay healthy! Mom even had a birthday party for me. It's almost
time for my birthday again, so maybe we'll have another party! I am one
lucky cat to have been adopted by such a loving Mom!
