Dr.
April Mitchell and
Bully Dr. April
Mitchell is a native of Walton County and attended Monroe Area Comprehensive
High School before becoming a biology major at Mercer University. She
graduated from the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine, in
1997 and participated in a large animal internship with UGA following her
graduation from the Veterinary school. Before returning to Monroe in 2002,
she worked in an equine veterinary practice in Alpharetta, Georgia. Dr.
Mitchell grew up in a family of horse lovers and is an accomplished rider.
She was inspired by Dr. Taylor Bragg (founder of Monroe Veterinary Clinic)
at the tender age of 3 to become a veterinarian and never wavered in her
career choice. Dr. Mitchell particularly enjoys working with the families of
her patients to promote a healthy lifestyle for healthy pets. She also
enjoys the “family" atmosphere of working with the staff of Monroe
Veterinary Clinic. She enjoys spending time with her family, playing with
their pets (horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens and a fish!) and just
being outdoors. Dr. Mitchell may be petite, but she rides Walking horses and
enjoys basketball! She is an active member of Walton Animal Guild (WAG), the
GA Walking Horse Association, GVMA,
AVMA and the local chapter of the March
of Dimes where she serves as a speaker and fundraiser. |
